SnapCommit ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

When you create an account, we collect:

  • GitHub username (if you sign up with GitHub)

2.2 Usage Data

We collect limited usage data:

  • Number of AI commits generated
  • CLI authentication tokens
  • License status (trial, active, expired)
  • Last used timestamps

2.3 Code & Git Data

We do NOT store or collect:

  • Your source code
  • Repository contents
  • Git history
  • Commit messages (after generation)

Git diffs are sent to AI providers (Claude, Gemini) for commit message generation but are not stored by us or them.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain our service
  • Generate AI commit messages
  • Track usage limits (50 commits/month for free tier)
  • Authenticate your CLI sessions
  • Send important service updates
  • Process payments (if applicable)

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices:

  • Database: Supabase (PostgreSQL with Row Level Security)
  • Authentication tokens: Encrypted and hashed
  • API keys: Stored securely on our servers only
  • No source code storage

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Anthropic (Claude): AI commit message generation
  • Google (Gemini): AI fallback service
  • Supabase: Database and authentication
  • Vercel: Hosting and deployment
  • Stripe (if implemented): Payment processing

Each service has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and data
  • Export your data
  • Opt-out of communications

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

SnapCommit is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
